The Black Dragon Gang
The Rise of The Ancients
The Rise of The Ancients
Prelude
The Pre Story Before The Story
The Green Dragon's Leader had died because of the wounds he was dealt. Scarlet and Battou returned with no retainers of the Green Clan. This was the final extinction of the Green Dragons. Cyrus, Leo's dragon, decided to stay at the Black Dragon's Palace to ensure it's protection. Braizen of the Red Dragons had made a few more attack attempts on the Black Dragon's but to no avail failed each time. Varian, the leader of the Black Dragons, heard a rumor of a legendary elixer that could possibly bring Leo back. Leaving the kingdom in his wife's hands, he gave her a long kiss and headed out to some unidentified terrains to find it. He had already been gone for three months just getting there. Unfortunately, Varian came to find out that the information originated from Braizen in an attempt to seclude Varian and ambush him. Varian fought hard and it seemed he was going to win this bout and finally end Braizen's tyranny. Braizen, on the other hand had been holding out on Varian. Braizen's dragon, Volcade, decided to get involved. Blood Bane, Varians faithful Dragon, intercepted Volcades attack. It still seemed Varian still had everything in his advantage. Only Braizen had a trick up his sleeve. The elixer before mentioned, was no elixer at all. The founder of this Legendary artifact was granted the company of a second dragon. Braizen ordered his two dragons to weaken Blood Bane, and when they had finally done so, Braizen, Volcade, and his new dragon Fernir, ganged up on Varian. Varian fell after an epic battle approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes later. Presuming Varian dead, Braizen left to go back to his own Kingdom. Varian was left looking through the whites of his eyes remembering everything up to his current situation. Memories of the old days in the Black Dragons when his close friend, Battou, was in charge came to mind, as well as when he first met Bane. Thinking this far back Varian was ready to let go and allow his era to fall. It was not until memories of meeting his wife, Scarlet, and how hard he fell in love at just about first sight that he started fighting for his right to live on. It then washed over him how much his vassals and his wife truly loved him. It was at that point that it was a finalized decision. Varian would live on. Scarlet would not allow another on his throne as long as she was alive. Varian then forced his body to his knees. He was the weakest he had ever been, but his will had become the strongest ever known. While making his long way back to The Black Dragon's Lair, He had regained much of his strength due to his willpower alone. Fighting off monsters here and Braizens lackeys there, Varian had also kept brushed up on his own fighting skill. When he had regained enough strength back, he was able to call out for Bane telepathically. He then tried to call out for Battou the same way, but he had not regained enough strength to do so. Bane had finally swooped down on Varian and, after a short Kodak moment, They made their way to Bane's original lair. This was where Bane was residing when Varian found him. Bane was the odd one of these particular dragons. But they stayed together. They were very close, closer than most groups of dragons would be. They had welcomed both Varian and Bane with no resistance at all. They had nursed Bane and Varian back to completely full strength. They also had taught Varian to control his mind. With the new ability to keep anyone out of his head telepathically or otherwise, he decided to keep Battou out. He had been gone for nine months now. Varian decided it was time to do some personal heavy duty training. After a long council between Bane and his fellow Dragonic family, it was decided that Varian would train by fighting these dragons. The cache was that Varian had to kill them, though. Upon doing so he would be blessed with armor that was his skin. He would no longer need to equip battle armor. He would also be granted their Legendary Sword, The Draco Psyche. He would be blessed with one final gift from these beings. Well more like Bane was, given a gift, rather. Bane now had the ability of the fastest speed in the skies, and was now able to spit any elemental flames out of his mouth. Varian and Bane had been away from the Black Dragon Palace for 1 year and 6 months now. In such a short time, they had grown their bonds together to the very max, and knew how to work together in the most efficient ways known to man. They had also surpassed their limits ten-fold and gained bonuses never known to exist, but... Through all this change, their personalities have changed as well. Varian had become a nearly fully mute. He lost his romantic side of him to become stronger. He had very limited emotion, but love for his kingdom for his vassals and for his wife never changed. It would just be difficult to see at this point. He had sacrificed his sensitivity to never be placed in the situation he lived through again. Varian and Bane now made their way back to the palace. With Bane's new found speed, they shortened the time by 75%. They would make it back in less than a month.
